Weird Pal Karaoke Night

Weird Pal is a songwriting competition where standup comedians and improvisers go head to head in a battle for the coveted “Denim Jacket” and 3 months bragging rights! The rules are simple, choose a song that already exists and make up ridiculous lyrics to the melody. Include props and other unique materials in your act and YOU could win first place! 1st Place Winner: Denim Jacket with signature 2nd Place Winner: FREE tab at the bar 3rd Place Winner: a priceless piece of “art” aka something previously owned and likely covered in grime! Written lyrics must be submitted no later than March 26, 2025. All are welcome to enter and winners are determined by audience vote, so if the force is strong with you then it’s time to get writing! Johnny Pogo

Sophia Johnson is an actor and comedian from NZ. You might have seen her on netflix’s ‘Ash vs the Evil Dead’, or CW’s ‘legends of tomorrow’ and ‘Nancy Drew’ She has performed at three NZ international comedy festivals, including her sell out show ’50 minutes plus laughs’. Brittany Lyseng

Brittany Lyseng is a nationally touring stand-up comedian, writer, and podcaster. Her comedy career began after spending 12 years as a tradesman, driven by a desire to lift less and laugh more, and she has since become one of the fastest-rising stars in the Canadian comedy scene. She has appeared on CTV’s Roast Battles Canada, CBC’s New Wave of Stand-Up Comedy, Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, CTV’s The Stand-Up Show with Jon Dore, and guest appearances on CBC Radio’s The Debaters. Released in 2019, her debut album Going Up reached #1 on iTunes and was followed by performances at three Just For Laughs festivals (Montreal, JFL 42 in Toronto, and Vancouver’s JFL Northwest).
